The Malaga Lodge is an ideal base for exploring the city. Very clean, modern and comfortable, it’s just a 10-15 minute walk to Malaga’s main attractions (the Alcazaba (Arabic fortress), the Gibralfaro castle, the Picasso museum, etc.) and a 20 minute walk to La Malagueta beach. It’s also close to a supermarket and bakery. Each room is allocated a shelf in the fridge and a cupboard in the spacious kitchen.

When you book the accommodation online, the owner (Señora Higgins) emails you details of how to locate Malaga Lodge (by car, bus or taxi) and arranges for either her or the housekeeper (Señora Mariángeles) to meet you on arrival. Both Señora Higgins and Mariángeles are very helpful. If you are driving to the accommodation and unfamiliar with Malaga, I would suggest planning your route carefully and giving yourself plenty of time as the city’s streets are bustling and, at times, confusing. I stayed at Malaga Lodge for two nights in December 2011 and would definitely recommend it.

The Malaga Lodge is by far the cosiest place I've stayed at. The rooms are very stylish. The kitchen is a lovely meeting place. The lodge is situated near the city centre. It makes for less than a 10-minute walk to the heart of the city. Right next to the lodge is a beautiful church - a nice starting place for your visit of the city. There is no need to panic if the weather should turn out to be dreary, as the lodge has a WIFI-environment, TV sets, a DVD-player and a great collection of novels in various languages. A classy place!

Dear MalagaLodge and Mayte!

Thank you so much for your hospitality and it was really nice to stay in Malaga Lodge. Wish we could stay more.

We stayed for one day only on the 22nd of August. We enjoyed everything. Location is VERY SAFE and convenient - we could walk from city centre and from seaside (about 20 minutes) also we could use a bus #1 that stops directly in front of the street where MalagaLodge is situated.
THe room, bathroom and kitchen were clean!
Even the fact that housekeeper does not speak English was not a problem for us bcz we understood each other also we called Mayte to ask to keep our luggage till the evening after check out as we have free time till our night bus Malaga-Madrid and we wanted to explore the city.
Mayte was so kind and let us keep the luggage for free! Thank you so much, Mayte!

Good luck to you and we wish long and happy years to MalagaLodge!

Dear Mayte, I wanted to let you know that we had a really lovely time and that we were so pleased with our room and with your guest house in general. I am really sorry that we did not get to meet you during our week's stay at Malaga Lodge. The house was so clean and your house keeper, the lady Mariángeles, did a beautiful job of keeping it just so. I did thank her very much at the time but maybe you could thank her again from us.

Your guest house was just perfect for us as we were in the heart of the city, within 15/20 minutes walking distance of the restaurants, cafes and the main sites and we had a simple yet comfortable room with everything we needed and the use of a lovely little kitchen. We also met some very nice people, not only from other parts of Europe, but also from Argentina!

Thank you for the advice on parking in the local area. It was sometimes a bit tight as the streets around Malaga Lodge are very narrow but we always found a spot withing 5 minutes walk.

If ever we come back to Malaga, we will definitely come again and hopefully you will have room for us and we would recommend your house to other like-minded travellers.

Thank you, once again, Kind regards,
Karen and Chris Christodoulou
