Picasso Musseum

Considered as one of the major artist of the 20th century, Pablo Ruiz Picasso was borned in Málaga in 1.881. With him, the paintings experimented a radical alteration of his aesthetic and conceptual budget, being his work a symbol of our time: ferars, distresses, superstitions, myths, ... . Paintings as Guernica, Señoritas de Avignon or Muchacha joven delante de un espejo, the author´s paintbrush was always looking for freedom, without tradition, conventions or prejudices.

Picasso wanted that his paintings could be shown in the city where he was borned. Finally, Musseum Picasso was inaugurated in 2.003. Located in Buenavista´s Palace, San Agustín Street nº 8, in the historical center of the city, it´s a building of the 16th century, example of Andalusian architecture where you can see Renaissance and Mudejar elements.

With a Permanent Collection with more than 200 works, including Picasso´s revolutionary innovations, as well as the wide variety of material styles and technologies that he dominated. From the first academic studies to his personal vision of tha clasicism, from the planes superposed from the cubism to the paintings of the 70s.

Also the Museeum has a Temporary Collection and a Auditorium, where you can see cultural activities.
